of planners and things

Tonight, the unthinkable happened. No joke. This rarely happens to me but when it does, panic ensues.

I lost my planner. In other words, 90% of my brain was missing in action this evening. Rather that trying to find it for the first hour, I had a meltdown. I sighed and cried and panicked because that's what I do best. My emotions went to the extreme and I began envisioning all the horrific things that would happen; I would be late for all my appointments and I wouldn't be able to contact anyone because I'm the only person who stores her numbers in a planner rather than a cell phone. (Pardon the run-on sentence. I just had to vent.) Sigh. It was a hectic evening and I am considering some therapy to help me.

After collecting myself, I managed to stumble around the house and dump everything upside down. And there, in the middle of a pile of rubble, I found my better half. Heh. Now I'm off to clean the mess I created to find my precious little baby :)

A month ago, I posted a few photos of the most adorable little baby girl I know. I had fully intended to follow that post up with more (because I took over one hundred pictures at her shoot), but I obviously never got around to it. Heh. Well, I'm amending that now.

If you don't already know, I am employed as a full-time nanny to four children. I do a wide variety of activities from washing dishes to supervising disagreements to gluing random sticks together for a craft. I now have a whole new respect for all mothers out there. As a nannying, I have had to sacrifice so many things for these kids. Even if I feel like crap and want to sit around, I don't always have that option because someone is either begging for food or needing help with something. Anyways, enough of that. Many of the pictures that make their debut here on the blog this summer will probably have something to do with kiddish themes. For that, I apologize.

Today, "my kids" participated in a craft activity at the local library. Hallelujah! That meant free time for me :) I decided to dig into Kierkegaard's book, Practice in Christianity. It's really deep, but very interesting. Earlier this year in school, my professors spent a decent amount of time discussing Kierkegaard and I've been dying to read some of his stuff. Not an easy read, but that's okay.

Meet Kristin

Not only does she have the sweetest name ever (it's even spelled the RIGHT way; great parents think alike), this girl has the most awesome sense of style and a colorful personality to match. Kristin and I have been friends for less than a month and we have hit it off so well. I will miss her when she moves back to South Carolina in August for school.

Yesterday, I took Kristin's picture just for fun. I think I shot over one hundred images and I loved every single one of them. It was so, so, so, so hard to choose which to post here. Be sure to take a look at the slideshow because there are some other stunning shots you don't want to miss.

(PS - Day Three in my 365 project will be coming later on.)

Today is Day Two of my daily photo. Sorry for the excess amount of pictures :)

Early this morning, I packed a picnic bag and my camera and escaped to the college town I consider home. What a wonderful town it is! I was accompanied by my friend Kristin and I loved it!
we lost track of time....

hmm, what's this?

Revamp

I changed my template...again. Bear with me please!

Comments or criticism would be appreciated. Things show up correctly for me, but if you notice anything odd, please let me know!

Edit: All tweaks have been completed. For now at least. Hehe. Major props to my friend Sarah for helping me with the header. Props to a few other good friends who gave me their honest opinion of the template when I first changed it ;)

Everyday for the next year, I plan on taking a picture and blogging it everyday. Today is day one!

I spent part of the evening with my sister Elizabeth:

then I did quite a bit of work on my computer while listening to music :)
