I've been blogging here for several years now and I've nearly used up all the photo bandwidth I'm allowed. This has caused me to think about where my business and this blog are headed. I have lots of new ideas and photos to share, but time and blog space don't permit me to at this time. Hopefully this summer I'll work towards launching a website with my own domain. I'm really excited! For now, posting will be lighter here and I will be sharing more shoots on Facebook, so follow me there if you wish. I don't plan on using it exclusively, but you will probably see more content there while I begin working on my new website :)

I'm also in the process of obtaining a permanent second shooter, which is also exciting! Stay tuned for details!!

sorry for the lack of updates. i have still been shooting, but not blogging!

remember these things?! i'm slowly learning to love winter, but I still miss the green and the explosion of color that spring and summer offer. anyone else getting sick of the cold temperatures, gray skies and snow yet?

I'm going through all my pictures from 2009 and organizing them and getting ready to back the last trillion up. Okay, that's a slight exaggeration, but it sure seems like I've taken a lot of pictures! The above photo was taken earlier this year and I LOVE it. Not sure it ever made it on the blog, so I thought I'd share.

As much as I love fall, I really do miss the flowers, the sunshine, green grass and warm temperatures.

One of my favorite things to do with my camera is let myself freeshoot. I'm not sure that "freeshoot" is technically a term, but who cares. This is my definition. Freeshooting is when I take pictures without looking through the viewfinder. I just wait till the lens settles down and focuses on something, then I snap away. Oftentimes, I get my best pictures this way because I'm not able to be picky and my creativity tends to take over. This was my result this evening:

Next to writing and photography, gardening is one of my biggest hobbies and passions. During the spring, I love getting down in the dirt, pulling weeds and planting new flowers or watching perennials reappear. In winter, I love looking through gardening magazines, jotting down ideas for the next year. I love it all, but I think the saddest part for a gardener is watching the beautiful blossoms fade. We've had an unusually cool, wet summer here in Michigan, so I think it's safe to say my beloved roses are through...
